Excursions and daytrips

Next to Sonthofen you´ve got much to see and to experience. For people, interesseted in cultur, a daytrip to the castles Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau and Linderhof. Who´s interessted in older history might visit the ruins of Eisenberg and Freyberg, in which you may feel and see the hard work of the middle age.

Who is interested in regional culture, will find the fullfilling in the old town of Sonthofen and the classical farmhouses of the surrounding villages. But who needs a break of culture, those are invited by the Allgäu metropolis Kempten with the big traffic calmed inner city and the newly builded "Forum Allgäu" for shopping and strolling.

But even nature fans will cover their costs at us. How sounds a beautiful hike in the Allgäuer mountains? Or do you like to visit the single passable ice age cave of the Allgäu, the Sturmanns Höhle? Who likes hiking, may espacially be interested in the picturesque Starzlachklamm or in the fascinating Breitachklamm. Particulary in winter the Breitachklamm has a fantastic view, with the mountain rivers turning into a giantful, glittering ice-crystal-sculpture.

The Fellhorn and the Nebelhorn are inviting you for extensiv summer hiking tours. With the cabin cableway you reach the summit with no expenditure, from where you can return to the valley on picturesque hiking trails. While the Fellhorn is known as one of the beautiest flowermountains of germany, the Nebelhorn, thehighest mountain of the Allgäu, provides a 400 summit view.
